Go go go!

Hello everyone,

Well this week it's all go for the Copywriters at Ipcoweb. We write SEO articles for our clients either weekly, monthly or bi-monthly and we are given a target to meet at the beginning of every month. The last few days of the month is always hectic to finalise the last few articles on our lists.

Last week I had a hiccup because my mom ended up in hospital unexpectedly and I spent 2 days with her, so I am lagging on my articles, which is not my style! So, let me stop writing on my blog and continue with my work.

Have a super week!!

We do it to ourselves...

So, I had a very "interesting"  week this week...my mother discovered that she had bladder cancer and had 2 tumours surgically removed on Monday. What I find interesting is that the Urologist says that this is very common in smokers yet very there is very little publicity for bladder cancer. We all know that smoking increases the risk of lung cancer, but bladder cancer???

Thankfully this story has a happy ending because the tumours were still very small and my mom stopped smoking in January this year, which hopefully means that that the risk of recurrence should diminish. Not to say that she is all clear though - the doc has recommended scopes frequently over the next 2 years.

My matric final prepared speech was titled "We are our own worst enemies" and I believe it! Why on earth would humans create such an awful habit like smoking, which has literally no benefit to our bodies or our environment???? Just makes no sense to me. Anyway, we could debate that until I am old and grey!

So, this has been a week full of turmoil and emotion and because I took 2 days to spend with my mom, I am behind on my writing :-( So I had better get back to my articles now. Fortunately I can work in the evenings and weekends to catch up when necessary. Love that my job at Ipcoweb provides this flexibility!!!

Have a super weekend everyone!

Cheers for now...

Be thankful no matter what...

When times are tough, it is often difficult to feel thankful for what we do have. I am trying to master this technique myself!

So - today I am grateful and thankful for having a stable job at Ipcoweb, thankful for my dedicated and devoted husband, and for my healthy and happy little boys.

Remember when you examine your life carefully, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.

Cheers for now and happy hump day!

Make time for family

So this weekend, we spent some quality family time with my side of the family - the Hesselbergs. What brought this mini reunion about was the fact that my cousin, Dylan, was out here from Australia. It seems to be the only time that we make time for seeing each other and make a bit of an effort - sad really. You should not have to have a reason to see family often, but in this chaos we call life, there is rarely time for family and especially extended family. But regardless of the reason for the gathering - it was just great to see my aunt, uncles and cousins! My children enjoyed hours of fun, playing with their second cousins who range between 11 years old and my youngest, Declan who is 3 and a half.

What impressed me yesterday is that there has been a fair share of family feuds over the years, but everyone  behaved and had a good time. It was just a great day filled with laughter and sharing memories.

And now...it's Monday again! We all say it, but honestly the weekends just go by WAY to quickly! Having said that, I can't complain...I am still thoroughly enjoying my Copywriting for Ipcoweb and thankful that I can work from home - what a blessing! Speaking of which, I had better get back to my articles.

Have a super weekend everyone!

Let's start at the beginning...

Hi,

My name is Ilona-Jane Bell - quite a mouthful I know, but I am commonly known as Ilona to my friends. I am a wife to a wonderful man named David Bell, mother of 2 fantastic little boys (aged 3 and 6 who keep us extremely busy) and I am an employee too. I am very fortunate to be able to work from home which is a marvellous benefit for any working mother!

I am currently employed as a Copywriter for an up and coming and very dynamic SEO and web development company called Ipcoweb. Ever heard of SEO? Many have not! If you are one of those let me fill you in... SEO is the abbreviation for Search Engine Optimisation which in short means getting websites to the first page on Google through natural or organic search methods. I am not going to go into lengthy details, but if you want to find out more about SEO or about the products and services we offer, feel free to visit our cool new website.

The copywriting team that I am part of is responsible for writing fresh and new content in the form of SEO keyword-rich articles either weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on the client's requirements. So, if you are a Copywriter for Ipcoweb, you become very familiar with many different businesses in many different sectors. This is pretty awesome and I am sure my general knowledge has increased in leaps and bounds!

Having a BA degree with Communications as one of my majors, I feel that I have a flare for words and communication in general and this helps me create interesting and insightful content. Also my background of being an executive personal assistant, has certainly helped keep my English skills professional and business-like.

Well that's all about me for now. Better get back to my writing now!
